I'm a certified exercise physiologist and health coach who lives in Canmore, Alberta.
If you've made it here, I'm guessing you have been, or are struggling with some of the same challenges I've encountered, including feeling like you are stuck in a vicious cycle of 'survival mode' and not able to enjoy your life like you could.
There was a season in my life where stress won out, a negative mindset plagued me and I felt I was holding out till the weekend, next vacation or you fill in the blank...
Ultimately it was all about wishing for a better season.
Because of this, my health suffered - which fed back into the negative mindset, the over-stimulated, stressed body, and repetitive mantra that 'Things will be better when...'.
I felt bloated, stressed out, had acne breakouts, a lack of energy, increasing food intolerances, and didn't feel like doing the activities I loved or being with friends and family.
How many of you can relate to arriving home after a long day feeling exhausted both physically and emotionally, yet ready to be home & see those you love most, BUT you get triggered by something, lose control & end up hurting those you love the most?!
Or you struggle to truly love these people due to feeling like you have nothing left to give.
No passion or excitement for life
Just overwhelmed & exhausted!
We do not have to live like this!
I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be like this ... I've been on a journey that has focused on lifestyle factors to support well-being. I'm here to help you realize that you don't have to 'settle' or 'survive the season' but instead can work toward becoming the person you desire.
You can show up in the world as your best self and give that best self to those you love the most, instead of the worn-out, barely holding on self we often have left over.
I can say I have learned to dream again - to open up the door to possibility and say 'What if..!?'
Through my education, as a Functional Health Coach (A-CFHC), Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP), and Master of Kinesiology (MKin), I have learned how to help those struggling with similar problems and chronic conditions navigate the health world and figure out the best approach they should be taking to start healing their body and mind.
I truly believe there is so much we can do to bring healing to our bodies by starting with simple lifestyle changes such as what we eat, how we move, how we handle stress, our sleep, and the support systems we surround ourselves with.
We have the power to transform our physical and mental well-being, however it can seem like a daunting task on your own.
My goal is to partner with you to:
Create a vision of what life could be, and open up space to dream again.
Break down overwhelmingly big ideas into smaller ones to work towards that vision.
Determine the best dietary approach that works for your body AND leaves you feeling great.
Find ways to move your body that energize you.
Assess if there are certain lifestyle triggers that exacerbate your ability to flourish, hint: Stress!
Provide support, accountability & resources to show 'you have what takes'.
Create a supportive, encouraging environment for all, including offering a faith-based approach to health for those interested.
Ultimately, work towards a flourishing life
To finally come home after a long day and be excited to be present with loved ones, to be okay with imperfection, and to feel your best both physically and mentally.
